    About Persimmon Woods: Opened in 1998 and designed by Keith Foster, Persimmon Woods is a premier 18-hole private club that has just completed a massive capital investment phase. Over the last two years, we have significantly elevated the course through a series of major enhancements, including a full restoration of our bentgrass greens and bridges, cart paths across the property.

    We have also upgraded our practice facility with additional targets to provide a higher-end experience for our membership.     Position Summary: We are seeking a Lead Assistant Superintendent focused on high-level course conditioning and operational efficiency. We are looking for a professional who takes pride in the quality of the property and can effectively lead a crew to meet the club’s daily maintenance standards.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Crew Management: Direct daily tasks and provide leadership to the team to ensure the course is prepared for play.
    • Turf Maintenance: Oversee all primary maintenance practices, including moisture management and specialized turf care.
    • Chemical and Fertilizer Applications: Responsible for the calibration, application, and documentation of all plant protectants and nutrients.
    • Course Scouting: Regularly monitor the property for disease, pest, or irrigation issues and coordinate the appropriate response.
    • Operational Oversight: Ensure all equipment is operated safely and the facility's standard operating procedures are followed.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree or Certificate in Turfgrass Management.
    • Previous leadership experience in golf course maintenance.
    • Missouri Pesticide Applicator’s License (or the ability to obtain one).
    • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to professional excellence.

    Salary & Benefits:

    • Salary: $75,000 – $83,000 DOE

    What to know about Glen Echo Country Club:

    Established in 1901, Glen Echo is believed to be the oldest, continually running country club and golf course west of the Mississippi River. It is also the oldest, continuously operating Olympic venue in the world. Glen Echo opened to glowing reviews as the first, complete 18-hole golf course in St. Louis and is considered one of the most historic private clubs in the area. Glen Echo became world renowned when it hosted the Olympic Golf Championships in 1904. Like all country clubs of that era, Glen Echo was home to high society, their families, and friends.     Expectations:

    Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree, and Turf Certificate Degree will all be considered for an appropriate and qualified candidate.

    Work Requirements:

    Professional Experience:

    Previous experience as an Assistant Superintendent is preferred but an exception will be made for a qualified candidate.

    Construction and Transition Zone experience are a plus.

    Jefferson City Country Club

    2nd Assistant/Spray Technician


    The Jefferson City Country Club is a private 18 hole country club located Jefferson City. The club was established in 1911 and went through a USGA spec greens renovation in 2010. The greens are A4 bent grass, the tees and fairways are zoysia, and the roughs are turf type fescues.

    This position will work closely with the golf course superintendent to insure all spray applications are applied at the proper times.


    Education and/or Experience

    - 2-4 year degree from an accredited institution

    - Possess a Missouri Category 3 pesticide applicators License or willing to obtain within 6months

    - Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions

    - Attention to details and commitment to high standards

    - Ability to work within a team

    - Ability to lead staff and manage weekend shifts

    - Experience with pesticide applications, calibrating sprayers and spreaders

    - Willing to work Monday –Friday and every other weekend and holidays during the golfing season

    Assistant Golf Course/Range Superintendent

    Reports To: Golf Course Superintendent

    Job Overview

    The Assistant Golf Course/Range Superintendent supports the Superintendent in managing the maintenance and care of the golf course, driving range, range tees, and landscaped areas. This position assists in scheduling, training, and supervising maintenance staff while ensuring high-quality playing conditions and a safe, efficient, and well-maintained facility.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Assist in the hiring, training, and daily supervision of maintenance and range staff.

    • Assist scheduling of outside maintenance staff - range and course labor.

    • Support the Superintendent in implementing turfgrass management programs for greens, tees, fairways, and range areas.

    • Execute daily, weekly, and seasonal maintenance schedules for mowing, irrigation, fertilization, and equipment care.

    • Monitor turf conditions, irrigation performance, and overall course presentation; report issues promptly to the Superintendent.

    • Assist in maintaining all equipment and tools used in golf course and range operations; perform minor mechanical repairs as needed.

    • Help ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations for all staff.

    • Participate in fertilizer and pesticide applications as directed; maintain proper records in accordance with state regulations.

    • Assist in managing the range ball inventory and ensure that range operations (picking, cleaning, and stocking) are completed efficiently.

    • Support the Superintendent in maintaining facility appearance, including landscaping, parking areas, and snow removal when necessary.

    • Maintain a professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude when interacting with staff, members, and guests.

    • Serve as acting Superintendent in the Superintendent’s absence.

    Qualifications

    • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field – Preferred

    • 1–2 years of golf course or turf maintenance experience – Required

    • Working knowledge of irrigation systems, turf equipment, and basic mechanical skills – Required

    • Missouri Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within 90 days) – Required

    • Strong communication and leadership skills

    • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and early mornings as needed

    • GCSAA membership – Preferred

    Bogey Hills Country Club was established in 1962 and is located in St. Charles, MO. The golf course agronomy team cares for 100 acres consisting of both warm and cool season turfgrasses.     Equipment Manager

    Gateway National Golf Links is an 18-hole, links-style, championship golf course designed by Keith Foster and opened in 1998.     As the Equipment/Shop Manager you will play a vital role in the daily operations of the golf course by maintaining and managing all golf course equipment, tools, and vehicles. This position requires a detail-oriented, proactive individual with experience in managing golf course equipment and strong communication skills.

    We are seeking a team player that is positive and encouraging. The individual selected should be able to train employees in the proper operation of all equipment and procedures. Maintaining a clean, neat, and organized shop is a requirement of this position.

    General Purpose: Maintains the equipment, aids in agronomy staff management, operator/safety training, and ensures that the equipment is maintained to high standards.   

    Essential Duties: 

    • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of all golf course equipment including mowers, tractors, carts, specialty equipment, and other tools
    • Develop and implement regular maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and longevity of all equipment
    • Consistently provide a high quality of cut across the golf course to aid in exceptional playing surfaces.
    • Maintain accurate record of equipment repairs, usage and maintenance schedules.
    • Manage the daily operations of the shop, including inventory control and ordering of supplies and parts
    • Coordinate with Management to ensure equipment and supplies are available for daily operations.
    • Assist in budgeting and purchasing decisions related to equipment and the shop with the Superintendent.

    Education: Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Experience: Minimum of 3 years in equipment management, shop management or related field (golf course maintenance preferred)

    Technical skills: Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with experience in servicing/repairing golf course equipment, small engines, and vehicles

    Certificates/Licenses: Valid Driver’s License

    Communication skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with staff, golfers, and vendors.

    Organizational skills: Must be able to multi task, prioritize, and have strong attention to detail
