    Position Overview:

    Woods Fort Golf Course is seeking a dedicated and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance and agronomic management. The successful candidate will take pride in providing top-quality playing conditions while leading and developing a skilled maintenance team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage all turfgrass maintenance practices for greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and practice areas.
    • Develop and execute agronomic programs, including fertility, irrigation, and pest management.
    • Oversee daily maintenance operations and supervise staff scheduling, training, and performance.
    • Maintain and operate the irrigation system efficiently.
    • Manage budget, equipment maintenance, and supply inventories.
    • Ensure course aesthetics, playability, and environmental stewardship.
    • Communicate regularly with ownership and management on course conditions and project planning.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree or certificate in turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum 3–5 years of golf course maintenance experience, with supervisory experience strongly preferred.
    • Missouri pesticide applicator’s license (or ability to obtain).
    • Strong knowledge of warm- and cool-season turf management in the Midwest.
    • Hands-on, team-oriented leadership style and strong communication skills.

    Recent Upgrades:

    • New Equipment: Most of our course equipment is less than one - two years old.

    Position Overview:

    Job Description: Looking for Applicant who has Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent experience with strong knowledge in turf grass maintenance, irrigation maintenance and repair, concrete and cart path repair, equipment management and drainage. We are looking for a person with excellent team leadership skills, solid work ethic, work a consistent schedule, turf knowledge in the transition zone, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi tasker and be comfortable directing and performing all duties related to maintaining all aspects of the golf course and clubhouse property. Applicant must be able to communicate with the clubhouse staff on a daily basis and have strong organization skills. Must be willing to assist with our other 4 golf courses if needed.

    Job Requirements: Have chemical and pesticide applicators licences or be able to get one within 90 days. Have working knowledge of maintenance equipment and operation, mechanical repairs, water management, lake maintenance, cart path and parking lot maintenance, golf course irrigation system, pump house operation, leak repairs and sprinkler head replacement. Capable of trouble shooting problems and implementing solutions in a timely manner, perform all duties required efficiently, safely and to above average standards.

    Benefits: Salary ranges from $95,000 - $105,000 based on experience. Two weeks paid vacation, health, dental, vision and life Insurance is available with participation.     Golf Course Irrigation Technician Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Irrigation Technician to join our grounds team. This role is essential in maintaining the quality and playability of the course through proper irrigation system care and daily assistance of Irrigation Technician and Golf Course Superintendent.

    Responsibilities:

    • Operate, inspect, and maintain the golf course irrigation system, including pumps, valves, controllers, and sprinkler heads.
    • Troubleshoot and repair irrigation issues such as leaks, breaks, clogs, and electrical malfunctions.
    • Monitor turf conditions and adjust irrigation schedules for optimal coverage and water conservation.
    • Assist with seasonal system startups, winterization, and upgrades.

    Qualifications:

    • Physically able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

    General Purpose: Maintains the equipment, aids in agronomy staff management, operator/safety training, and ensures that the equipment is maintained to high standards.   

    Essential Duties: 

    • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of all golf course equipment including mowers, tractors, carts, specialty equipment, and other tools
    • Develop and implement regular maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and longevity of all equipment
    • Consistently provide a high quality of cut across the golf course to aid in exceptional playing surfaces.
    • Maintain accurate record of equipment repairs, usage and maintenance schedules.
    • Manage the daily operations of the shop, including inventory control and ordering of supplies and parts
    • Coordinate with Management to ensure equipment and supplies are available for daily operations.
    • Assist in budgeting and purchasing decisions related to equipment and the shop with the Superintendent.

    Education: Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Experience: Minimum of 3 years in equipment management, shop management or related field (golf course maintenance preferred)

    Technical skills: Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with experience in servicing/repairing golf course equipment, small engines, and vehicles

    Certificates/Licenses: Valid Driver’s License

    Communication skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with staff, golfers, and vendors.

    Organizational skills: Must be able to multi task, prioritize, and have strong attention to detail

    Westborough Country Club is a private,Thomas Bendelow Designed,18-hole golf clublocated inthe Historic Kirkwood/Webster area of St. Louis, Missouri.  WCC is currently seeking a full-timeSpray Technician/2nd Assistant to join a well-seasoned golf turf management team.  Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.    

    In this position, you will work closely with the Director of Agronomy and Golf Course Superintendent.  This position will set you up for career advancement within WCC and lay a foundation for becoming a First Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.  

    Education and/or Experience and Special Skills 

    • 2-4 year degreepreferred from an accredited institution. 

    • Candidate must be willing to work six days a week, one weekend day-shift and holidays during the golfing season. 

    • Must be able to work within a team environment, communicate efficiently with staff, management, membership, and guests. 

    • Have a strong desire to advance in the golf maintenance profession.

    • You must be able to work unsupervised to complete tasks in a timely manner and find creative solutions to problems that may arise.
    • Able to lift 50 lbs.
    • Should be able to train employees in proper horticultural techniques when necessary.
    • Ability to do strenuous work for extended periods of time in a variety of weather conditions.
    • Golf course experience, as well as knowledge of the golf game preferred, but not required.
